Who am I?
Somehow I have managed to clock up over 25 years’ teaching and practical experience in the area of Children's evangelism and mission. I studied marketing for my first degree, and after working for an international stationery company, I spent 12 years in children’s and youth ministry in a variety of ways. Having a family connection with Scripture Union I enjoyed serving on the SU Council for five years. In the summer of 2014 I joined the teaching staff of Cliff College in Derbyshire (profile) as Lecturer in Evangelism, Mission and Ministry. Prior to that I spent five years working as Assistant Director for Oxford CYMFollowing a thesis on Boy's Spirituality for my Master's in Applied Theology and Reflective Practice I wrote Slugs & Snails & Puppy Dog's Tails published by IVF purchase. This has now developed into a PhD thesis on Developing Children's Spirituality. If this is a subject that interests you then please contact me.Proud parent of three (almost grown-up) children and one dog, I enjoy living in the Derbyshire countryside.
For many years I have written material for Scripture Union's Light (and formerly SALT) material. Creating ideas and activities that help children to engage with Bible and grow in their relationship with Jesus.
I also wrote 'Survival Skills for Christian Parents': their downloadable parenting course based on Richard Patterson's book 'Families with Faith'. And more recently a madcap drama for the Holiday Club series.
